Wow, surprises never stop. Congrats on the exposure. I must say the song is a fine piece of music. You should have taken Stan up on his offer. He could have blown the melody away!
There's no reason it couldn't be played in a "Jazz" club. I can hear a drum & bass part. It's very sing able, have you thought about writing lyrics for it?
If you want to know how to keep the arthritis from returning, send me an email.
I clicked the link and listened before I read the rest of the column. I don't hear Guaraldi so much as Bill Evans leavened with Monty Alexander. Good stuff for sure.
I have had 3 hand surgeries on both hands in the last 10 years 50 years of Guitar plating & increasing Keyboard work. It was for something called Duputyens Contracture & also Carpel Tunnel. It always cured it completely but came back every time within about a year. It came back with a vengeance about 2 years ago. Not wanting to be cut open on a surgery table during the Pandemic (I'm no longer young), I enlisted the help of a Musical friend, who I always knew was a Doctor of Acupuncture. I thought, why not ?
He gave me a Hell of a deal for twice a week for about 6 months or so, before the heavy lockdown. It was & still is pretty amazing - sure, I have pain on & off but & I am playing a bit less. I couldn't even make a fist, but now ? Try Acupuncture- it worked for Me.
And to quote another commentor here "There's no reason it couldn't be played in a "Jazz" club." I listened to Siena - also very nice. I'll be watching Saul later today. Congrats Ted !
I think you have been selling yourself short. Your composition is lovely, and I’m sure it will elicit many more nods of approval. Well done. It must be nice to get such a wonderful surprise after all these years. I thoroughly enjoyed your piece, and I am so happy for you that you received some recognition for it, after all this time. Kudos!! 💜
Congratulations Ted, “It’s a great tune deserving of an audience. Perhaps you could write something about music placements in tv shows. I find it really hot and miss, some shows are great others have a cringeworthy choice of music. Would appreciate your views and insights on this topic.
Congratulations on the placement! I believe your experience is illustrative of an important life principle: If you show up and do good work which resonates with who you are, chances are good that you will have a positive impact on someone's life. This is another example of you showing up, doing good work, and making us all better for it. Thank you.
This Music Supervisor‘s are working within the constraints of a budget. And if they place something into the temp score. And they find that it may be too expensive to license. They can always find something else. Except for in the case when there isn’t anything else like it. Which is every reason to continue to follow your muse and be that square peg in jazz or any genre… The thing that doesn’t quite fit in works to your advantage.
They even listed you by name in the Closed Captions. That’s definitely not a given when music is played.
A very beautiful song! May the royalties flow freely!

Here’s to you having a Kate Bush/Metallica bounce!
If it's good enough for Gus...

You are in fine company… I have a playlist of many of the jazz songs in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul and they are some great tunes.
