When I was finishing up playing live music, the bands had shrunk down to duos & finally - a single. A lot of the bar bands I had played with wanted to take a break after 20-30 minutes & then sit and drink for maybe 20-30 mins. Forget that.
When performing as a single I tried for at least an hour & a half to 2 hours or more before a break. Because like the guy said about original songs - you take a break and half the audience gets up & leaves. I had proven it out many times. You want them to stay - keep on playing (hopefully, what they want).
