As Ferg ( The cute dog), was saying. We thank you. And Rick Beato that made aware that the person I read just a glimpse ( books) and confined editorials now is made available for us. I have only two paid substacks. Gets expensive fast so it distilled what I really care about and like. If I would have to get only one paid, it would be yours. You are awesome when unleashed. My best year too.

Incredible output this year, Ted! I don't know how you do it. One of my favorite things to find in my inbox, and more often than not I stop whatever I'm doing to read your latest. I am in awe of your wide and deep knowledge. Happy for you that you've found both commercial and intellectual success on this platform. I think the conditions are in place to see big changes in the next decade, a return to artistry with real community support.

I feel so lucky to have found your newsletter, Ted. It's one of my few must-reads, and it's helped me discover and appreciate all sorts of new music-making. Here's to 2023!

No way, Ted — I should be thanking *you*. I have learned so much since discovering your newsletter. I am grateful for your insight, and frankly, how much fun it’s been to come along on this ride. I tell folks all the time that if they only pay for one subscription on Substack, it should be The Honest Broker. I’m certain I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Happy New Year to you and your family! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in store in 2023.

Ted, your content is the primary reason I even signed up for the platform and I enjoy every bit! I need to get more involved with this platform myself, because clearly the readership here is better than anywhere else online today. Looking forward to many more amazing articles from you and everyone else on Substack in 2023!

Ted, I’m about to start to build my own Substack and I’m here because I discovered your uncensored point of view on the music business. I have a very big mission - one I think you’ll like, but will no doubt think I’m crazy to even attempt to make happen! - my mission is to Build the Biggest and Fairest Music Company in the World and I intend to document this journey on my Substack. Looking forward to seeing you continue to grow your audience in 2023

- and I’ll be looking to contribute towards that by recommending you to everyone who subscribed to me.

Thank YOU Ted. This subscription is my best bang for the buck brain food. It’s crazy to me how much I like your newsletter. I don’t even like jazz! But I love the way you write and the way your brain works. So many posts that were so interesting and enjoyable and thought provoking - the courtly love post, the Netflix post, the decline of the counterculture, the long tail, the peak of clickability, the molimo. I could go on and on. I discovers The White Goddess and The Gift this year because of you. And John Ondolo and his hypnotic guitar. Have I mentioned I don’t even like jazz? I’m so glad I found this newsletter anyway. Thank you for all the writing and I eagerly await 2023. Happy New Year!

Ted, I’m one of your newer subscribers and have thoroughly enjoyed your writing. Your recent B&N article sent me shopping at the store just today in an effort to see the changes :-) also, love the Kierkegaard quote (and the old language!). Thanks for what you are doing here.
