Sincere congratulations. Your book Music: A Subversive History has been perspective and pathway-changing. Thank you because your articles reads enjoyably like a novel, and your insights widen my horizons. 🌺🌸🎶🙏
I read quite a few of your books before you started your substack and have been thrilled to be able to read new content from you every week. I cannot believe how much high-quality writing you are able to regularly crank out. You provide so much insight on topics that I have been interested in for a long time. Major kudos, keep up the great work!
Congratulation and what a post! 100 new subs a day? Those are figures I dream about. I’m a fairly recent subscriber so this was a great run down of your greatest hits. It has inspired me to spend a little time with you.
Ted, your writing is authentic, creative, compelling, and informative. The breadth of your interests is astonishing, and your enthusiasm for each of them shines through.
None of that is a gimmick or a technique or a formula that others can readily copy. I'm pretty sure that's the secret sauce that explains the response to The Honest Broker.
This blog is a gift to your readers. I'm deeply grateful to be able to connect with you as a subscriber.
I got the message and agree, on a national level of pedestrian choices. But there is a great deal more to find if you search.
Listen to WBGO out of Newark/NY and you will hear dedicated efforts to feature new jazz music each day and week. WQXR classical also features new recordings, but not so many original artists' compositions. They have focused on little known composers, with a diligence and zeal for women composers and contemporary artists playing them.
A few college stations in the area are also worth the time to explore for new music.
Thanks for all of your thought provoking news letters.
